The History of LGBTWeddings.com
LGBTWeddings.com made its online debut Autumn, 2015.
The initial mission was clear: create educational opportunities for wedding professionals to best serve same-sex couples and create a program to assist same-sex couples with the wedding planning process.
To create a site that served both industry and couples required a lot of discussion and planning. LGBTWeddings.com held focus groups, met with industry leaders, couples, and associations to better understand their needs and assess what needs could be met.
The result of these discussions created a more refined vision: create a safe, fun, harmonious place where same-sex couples could plan the perfect day with qualified, friendly, enthusiastic providers who believe in equality. The site would support the initial concept of educating industry professionals and couples, while also creating a platform where the two could meet and connect.
Kimberly Vaughan, LGBTWeddings.com Founder and her team hit the highway and headed to major US cities across the nation, including New York, San Francisco, Dallas, Las Vegas, Houston, and Miami, to begin building awareness of the site and its mission. The team spent the next year hosting and attending events, seminars, panel discussions, weddin expos, bridal shows. Kimberly has spoken at several industry association events nationally and internationally to educate wedding professonals and couples, promoting the bridge between the wedding industry and the LGBT community.
LGBTWeddings.com incorporated in September, 2016, under the laws of the State of California.
"We dedicate this site to the Community it serves and the Wedding Professionals who see a beautiful vision of our Industry that includes equality, fairness, and many expressions of love! At LGBTWeddings.com we celebrate every day with a wedding!"
