Our Reader's Goals

To find information to plan the perfect wedding day. Whether it is thematic planning ideas, researching providers, DIY wedding planning, vow wording, or any other wedding planning topic under the sun, the end all be all goal for our readers and visitors is to plan a wedding. Therefore, article submission should be limited in scope to the wedding planning process, topics, advice, and advertorial. Content submission that does not fall within the scope or fulfill the goals of our audience will not be considered. Article ideas and a list of desired content are listed below.

General Planning Articles

We love receiving work from writers, journalists, bloggers and wedding professionals. We are very selective about the content that is included, so here are just a few guidelines when considering submitting articles, stories, or other content to LGBTWeddings.com.

  • We accept varying article lengths from 200 to 1500 words.
  • Articles should include an About The Author bio & headshot image (optional).
  • Seasonal article submissions may be sent at any time and will be archived until such time as the Editor is ready to submit for site publishing.
  • Photos are not required for article submissions; however any photos submitted must include appropriate photo credit & authorization of use. LGBTWeddings.com Editor has the right to approve or deny inclusion of any images submitted with articles.
  • References must include appropriate cites.
  • References to articles published on other sites are permissible if the linked article is authored by the same person and are not limited by exclusive agreement with referenced site.
  • We only accept original content.
  • General articles should be written in gender neutral form.
  • Terms like "the bride and groom" or articles that only reference brides would cause submitted articles to be rejected. Consider more inclusive language, such as, the couple, couples, or plural forms of titles such as brides and grooms.

This is much smaller than an article. This is a short, concise tip to assist couples with planning. This tip should be relevant to your field, provide creative, budgetary, or technical advice or ideas. This is your place to shine! You can Include a headshot photo with your submission, your business name, and contact information.

Real Wedding Love Stories

We love sharing Love Stories. If you feel that a couple you have just worked with would be the perfect story to share, then by all means, share it! We want to see your work and we want to share the love!

  • If your clients have already answered "Our Wedding" questions, be sure to include them with your Two Bright Lights submission. If they have not completed any questions to date, please direct them to www.FeatureMyRealWedding.com to submit their answers.
  • In the future, you can always direct them to www.FeatureMyRealWedding.com to answer questions before sending their images. We will match their answers with your Two Bright Lights submission.

Engagement Announcements

If there is one thing that makes us happy it is wedding engagements! We enjoy congratulating couples and wishing them a lifetime of happiness together. Couples can order an Engagement Announcement to share their news on our Engagement Announcements page ($45).

When submitted by a couple:

  • Visit the Engagement Announcements page and complete the order form ($45).
  • If you have professional images, you can attach them to the order. Be sure to include appropriate credit to your photographer and an authorization to use the image.
  • If you had an engagement session and there are several images you would like to include, please contact your photographer and ask them to submit images for your LGBTWeddings.com Engagement Announcement at www.TwoBrightLights.
  • If you have a photo that was taken personally, you can attach it to the order.
  • Determining whether submitted images will be used in the announcement is at the Editor's discretion. Images will be denied inclusion if they are inappropriate in nature, are low in image quality, low dpi, or for any other reason the Editor deems.

When submitted by a photographer:

  • A photographer may submit engagement announcements at no cost if they are an LGBTWeddings.com advertiser in good standing.
  • Submit your LGBTWeddings.com Engagement Announcement to www.TwoBrightLights for feature.
  • If your clients have already answered "Our Engagement" questions, be sure to include them with your Two Bright Lights submission. If they have not completed any questions to date, please direct them to Engagement Announcements to submit their answers.
  • In the future, you can always direct them to Engagement Announcements to answer questions before sending their images. We will match their answers with your Two Bright Lights submission.
