This wedding was 12 years in the making, you guys. 12 years!!! This beautiful couple met 12 years ago at Meredith College in Raleigh and were best friends. Teresa and Nephitearya haven't left each other's sides since! Not only are they best friends and co-workers at Girl Scouts, but now they're also married.
On Saturday, September 30th, their friends and family honored and celebrated them in downtown Wilmington, first at their ceremony at Greenfield Lake Park and then at The Beam Room above the Front Street Brewery. They celebrated with serenades and dancing, lemon-filled cake, and a signature cocktail. There were Girl Scout co-workers, friends from Raleigh that came to help, and family from everywhere that came and celebrated this beautiful couple. The flower bouquets were handmade (as Teresa is allergic to flowers), there were quilt squares to be made by all the guests, and a family Bible that made it's presence known in a truly wonderful way. We did portraits by the water, where passerbys congratulated them with LOVE. It was a gorgeous day filled with hugs, inspiration, and true love.
The ladies were afraid after they were married that my posting of their story would cost them their friends, their jobs, and some of their family. Before their wedding day, they made sure to tell everyone what was really happening and not ONE single person let them down. Such an amazing story.
Congratulations Teresa & Nephitearya!
