The History of LGBTWeddings.com

LGBTWeddings.com made its online debut Autumn, 2015, when it began offering online education resources for wedding professionals with its LGBTWeddings.com Business Ready program.

The initial mission was clear: create educational opportunities for wedding professionals to best serve same-sex couples and create a program to assist same-sex couples with the wedding planning process.

To create a site that served both industry and couples required a lot of discussion and planning. LGBTWeddings.com held focus groups, met with industry leaders, couples, and associations to better understand their needs.

The result of these discussions created a more refined vision:create a safe, fun, harmonious place where same-sex couples can plan the perfect day with qualified, friendly, enthusiastic providers who believe in equality.

The site would support the initial concept of educating industry professionals and couples, while also creating a platform where the two could meet and connect.

Kimberly Vaughan, founder of LGBTWeddings.com and her team hit the highway and headed to major US cities across the nation, including New York, San Francisco, Dallas, Las Vegas, Houston, and Miami, to begin building awareness of the site and its mission.  The team spent the next year hosting and attending events, seminars, panel discussions, wedding expos, and bridal shows.  Kimberly has spoken at several industry events nationally and internationally to educate wedding professonals and couples, promoting the bridge between the wedding industry and same sex couples.

LGBTWeddings.com incorporated in September, 2016, under the laws of the State of California.

"We dedicate this site to same sex couples and wedding professionals who share a vision of an inclusive wedding industry that promotes equality in love!  At LGBTWeddings.com we celebrate every day with a wedding!"
