Antonio, a Senior Manager for a financial institution, and Chris, a Buyer for Best Buy met online in 2009. They enjoy some of the same activities like biking and fitness and they both love doing most of everything together. The two enjoy a good glass of wine, trying new restaurants and love their date nights. Antonio loves to SHOP, SHOP, SHOP and can admit to being totally materialistic, but that's not always a bad thing, right!
Chris has a love and passion for travel and sightseeing. Chris loves his family and is always making sure we make every event and take every moment we can to spend time and help out his parents. Antonio is passionate about life in general and living in the moment living by the principal that life is about experiences, taking every opportunity to experience life and share those experiences with his now husband and friends. Although they are different in many ways, they are the same in so many more. “As a couple we are truly a perfect match! All the things I am not, Chris is. All the things he's not, I am.”
At the time of the ruling they were not engaged and hadn’t thought about marriage until after the ruling. They were so happy that they could get married when they chose it was the right time.
Their elegant black tie affair was at the great Landmark Center of St. Paul, on August 6th, 2016. They couldn't have asked for a better day, as the weather was absolutely stunning, with a perfect blue sky lit by the sun that shone down as Antonio & Chris made their way to the venue from the St. Paul Hotel.
Two hundred fifty guests appeared dressed for the Oscars; men wore tuxedos and women attended in floor length gowns. The full glass ceiling was a focal point of the venue draped from floor to ceiling. Uplighting adorned every pillar to create a dramatic, memorable effect.
Serving one of their favorites, they had a lovely steak dinner and enjoyed their favorite wines. From start to finish every detail was planned to perfection...
The venue was embellished with their unique, special touches that created an event that reflected a perfect wedding day, especially created for Antonio and Chris. “Our ceremony was so touching our guests were in tears from the love we share, the story Leslie told and the magical moment when we united.” Antonio and Chris have been the talk of the town by those who attended the event, and even those who didn't.
Antonio and Chris each had a best man at their side, as well as six groomsmen and six groomswomen, placing three of each on either side.

Antonio took Chris's last name. “The discussion was easy as we just talked about what would make most sense and if we ever decided to have children, what we want their last name to be. I went from Antonio Henry to Antonio Ekdahl.”
They took a mini-moon to Duluth, MN and are looking forward to their honeymoon plans in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on January 23, 2017.
Antonio and Chris specifically chose vendors who had experience with same-sex weddings. The planning process was intense and they wanted everything absolutely perfect. They had no difficulties finding amazing providers.
