Jessica booked a trip to the Mayan Riviera for the two of them. She planned a romantic dinner on the beach with the ocean just feet away. Jess had stolen Jennifer's commitment ring months prior to the trip and had it engraved with "Will you marry me?" Jennifer had been convinced that she lost her ring forever. After taking a nice long look at the ring, she realized it was the very same one she had always had. Of course, her answer was instantly "Yes!"
Jennifer and Jessica's wedding day was absolutely full of personal details unique to the couple. They both are prolific readers and had to incorporate their passion for literature, so their theme of "Old Library" was born. The focal point of their ceremony was a handmade 10 foot tall wedding arch, made of hundreds of books that the couple sourced from second hand stores and illuminated with twinkle lights.
They used library cards stamped with their wedding date for guests to use to sign in instead of the traditional book. In lieu of gifts they asked that each guest bring a copy of their favorite books to add to the couple's personal library.
One of the highlights was the couples' cigar bar. They had personalized matchboxes for their friends to take home. Succulents and wild flowers were used throughout the decor as well as the bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages. The cake was a naked cake topped and wrapped in succulents. The centerpieces for the tables were all handmade- Jennifer and Jessica used old hardback books, cutting out the middle and using them as succulent planters.
