Sydney, a pediatric nurse practitioner, and Catherine, a first-grade teacher, first bonded over their love of sweets and were engaged over ice cream sundaes on their porch. When MOIC established its first permanent location in San Francisco, Sydney surprised Catherine with tickets to the museum and brought both of their families along. They had such a blast and even used a picture of themselves at MOIC for their Save the Date before they even knew that would be the location of their wedding!
“When we were looking for a venue we said we wanted to think of a place that had brought us joy,” the couple says about their search for the perfect wedding venue. “To us, the Museum of Ice Cream is pure happiness, you can’t help but smile when you walk through the doors.”
“We have felt so celebrated and welcomed by the staff at the Museum of Ice Cream,” the couple continues about the sweetest match they could have asked for to celebrate their big day. “We’re honored to be the first wedding in MOIC history and were particularly excited when we found out that the whole museum was going to be decorated for pride!”
To celebrate love and the unifying power of ice cream, MOIC has a flavorful lineup of Pride exciting initiatives to celebrate those who tie the knot during the month of June. Aside from this wedding, MOIC is giving away 100 free tickets a day to couples married in the month of June. And on Friday, June 28, MOIC will be at San Francisco City Hall with a “Pink Army” of MOIC ambassadors to celebrate all the couples that get married that day in honor of Pride weekend in SF!
“Museum of Ice Cream was built with the purpose to connect people and spread joy. While we’re an inclusive space that champions diversity every day, Pride Month in San Francisco is particularly special to us. We can truly live our mission, celebrating human love both at our museum and at City Hall,” said Manish Vora, Co-Founder & President, Museum of Ice Cream.
