A surprise wedding n the first day of relaxed Covid restrictions in Washington, DC. I reached out to Michael and Samuel to do a styled shoot. But not long after we set a date, Michael called me up to tell me wanted to turn it into a surprise wedding, thrusting us into wedding planner mode together.
Michael had previously been surprised by Samuel’s over-the-top engagement in Florida. Michael wanted to return the surprise and organized a full wedding, flying all of their friends and family to join them on the romantic roof deck of the Conrad Hotel in City Center, Washington, DC for a magical wedding complete with the United States Capitol Dome in the background. A reception was held at Joe’s Steakhouse adjacent the White House.
After Michael and Samuel arrived at the hotel, we shot photographs in City Center, a modern architectural masterpiece lined with stores like Tiffany and Gucci. Michael presented Samuel with some Gucci shoes and sprung the surprise. We returned to the hotel for the big celebration as Samuel was impressed by Michael’s meticulous planning and overwhelmed by his amazing family and friends. It was an emotional occasion for all.
