Every year, as the wind picks up and a chill fills the air, a group of wedding vendors in Central Florida join forces to create extraordinary haunted weddings. Drawing inspiration from folklore, movies, and pop culture, they transform the traditional into something delightfully macabre. The process begins with a pitch, followed by a collaborative meeting where the team brings their ideas to life.

This time around, they decided to showcase one of the most beloved couples in a truly Addams Wedding. To set the stage, they needed a venue that perfectly embodied the iconic aesthetic. Their search led them to Cocktails and Screams, a year-round Halloween bar nestled in the heart of downtown. With an area dedicated to our dark duo, it was the ideal choice.
For their interpretation of Gomez and Morticia, the team wanted to give a modern twist to goth’s favorite couple by featuring a same-sex union. After all, love like theirs knows no boundaries. The chosen models perfectly captured the essence of the characters, effortlessly blending cool sophistication with playful camp. To create their attire, the team scoured their favorite vintage store for unique pieces that would complement the ethereal atmosphere, while a touch of formal elegance was added with the customary tuxedo. The hair and makeup had to strike a delicate balance, capturing the essence of the beloved characters while allowing the models’ natural beauty to shine through.

There was even a debate about whether Gomez should sport a mustache, as it is such an iconic part of his look.
The table settings and decor were designed to be both stunning and delightfully twisted. Textured linens, glamorous plates, chargers, glassware, flatware, and custom stationary came together to create a truly one-of-a-kind ambiance. The floral arrangements took a whimsical turn, with rose heads clipped from their stems and suspended from the center chandelier or submerged in grand vases. The result was a captivating display that exuded an otherworldly charm, pushing the boundaries of creativity.

One of the standout elements was the addition of dancing on clouds, a trend embraced by real couples for their first dances or grand entrances. This effect elevated the ceremony portraits to new heights, adding an extra touch of magic. Other unique touches included an all-black tiered wedding cake adorned with skull and raven guardians, swords symbolizing finding one’s match, and the ever-watchful Thing, guarding the rings.

Lastly, the photographer and videographer expertly captured the spirit of the entire day, using moody lighting and close-up shots to focus on the couple and the intricate details of the setup.
Despite the challenges of planning during a pandemic, with numerous adjustments, rescheduling, and reconfiguring, the end result surpassed all expectations. The team hopes that you will enjoy this extraordinary wedding as much as they did, filled with excitement and reverence for these classic characters.
